It’s not every day you see a horse and buggy travelling down one of Estevan’s main streets, but shortly after 9:00 this morning, a robust quarter horse and two-person carriage clipped down 13th Avenue.

Richard Asbenlieder and his handsome horse, Dock, were out for a drive, riding past the radio station toward the valley. When stopped for a photo Richard explained, “I’m just putting a little work on this horse to get him ready for the parade. I take my little grandchildren in the parade every year, so just getting him used to being in town.”

Dock had no comment.

Many interested community members were out taking pictures and slowing down in their vehicles to get a better look.

Later this afternoon, we’ll update you with more information on which parade you need to attend in order to see Richard and Dock again.
