The next recipient for the proceeds of Savour the Southeast has been announced and it will go to Envision Counselling and Support Centre.

"Envision was the recipient because of the fact that we wanted to pick an organization that is able to help the entire southeast corner and that is what Envision does," explained Josh Leblanc, with the organizing committee. "Because of the name of our event is Savour the Southeast, we thought maybe putting it out there and throwing the events to all four corners would draw more people into Estevan, fill some hotels, help with some sponsorship for events."

Envision has offices in Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle and Oxbow.

"We know that organization impacts more than just Estevan and it kind of aligned with the ideals and the name of our event, that it's the southeast corner of Saskatchewan."

"We know that a lot of people are facing hard economic times right now. We thought that maybe this could be one of the organization that could use the help."

Leblanc also added that planning for the big event is coming along very well.

"We're still working with vendors, we have lots of vendors who are returning which is really nice."

He noted that the date has been moved up one week as to not interfere with Mother's Day and those who want to celebrate, and the vendors who are busy that day as well.

"We're hoping that ill grow the food side just because we don't have the conflict with Mother's Day and the busy event the next day after Savour."

"In terms of beverage providers, that's going really strong. We're working on six brand new vendors that we're going to bring this year."

"And I can't really announce the other culinary spectacular that we're working on but it's going to be really, really good."

As for entertainment, they already have one band booked.

"We have one band booked for sure, that's League of Wolves. They're from the southwestern area of the province. They're kind of a rock sound which will be good. And we're working on one country band and we're working on a cabaret band as well."

"It's going to be a great time."

He added that tickets will be coming out soon and that they're probably going to make a great Christmas gift.

Savour the Southeast will be held on May 5th at Affinity Place.
