The Estevan Police Service have been busy recently with a couple reports dealing with thefts.

On August 9th, EPS received a report from a local business in regards to a theft of copper wire.

"The business reported a theft on August 9th," explained Cst Lana Gropp. "They believe the roll of copper wire was taken between August 3rd and August 9th. The value of wire is reported to be approximately $4,000."

As well, on August 10th, a member was on patrol in the west end of Estevan and made a traffic stop after a vehicle caught his attention. 

"In the late evening hours of August 10th, an Estevan police member was patrolling in the southwest area of the city. He observed a vehicle travelling with the passenger door open. He conducted a traffic stop and questioned the driver. The 40-year-old male admitted to stealing a generator. Police questioned the male further and disclosed the location of the theft. The generator was later returned to the owner."

The man was released in front of a Justice of the Peace on conditions.
