There were a number of calls that the Estevan Police Service responded to on Sunday including one involving a man damaging a vehicle while people were inside.

"Members responded to a complaint at the 200 block of 4th street," shared Sgt Evan Handley, "where a 34-year-old male has been charged with mischief and failing to comply with a probation order. He will appear in court in April to answer those charges."

"After that, police attended to a two vehicle accident at 13th and 6th Street where a male was charged for failing to stop for a red light."

"Both vehicles had to be towed but no one was injured."

Sgt. Handley added that the gun amnesty will start this Thursday, March 29th for people wanting to get rid of unwanted firearms or ammunition.

"Guns can be turned into the Estevan Police Service. We ask that you not bring the guns into the door, just give us a call. We'll be happy to come out to your vehicle to pick up any guns or ammunition or we'll come right to your house."

"You can call us here at the Police Station at 306-634-4767."
