The No.2901 Estevan Elks Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp hosted the 102nd Anniversary Vimy Remembered Presentation on Saturday as a way for the cadets to commemorate the memory of the southeast connection to the world war 1 battle.

"We had Cadets that came down from Regina here to take part today as well as our own cadets," shared Captain Craig Bird with the Army Cadets. "We had about 30 people from the general public that came out to participate as well." Unfortunately, the rain did not stop till after the mini-remembrance day ceremony, but that didn't stop the Cadets from showing their respect as they stood in the rain. The Cadets and public also had a chance to see many of the items a soldier would have used or worn in World War 1.

"We've got some period rifles, period uniforms, some period handguns, other assorted things that soldiers would have carried, a Vickers machine gun, a deactivated captured maxim machine gun that was taken from the Germans in World War 1and that sort of thing."

The Vimy Remembered Presentation is held every year. The Estevan Army Cadets are thankful to the public that came out and welcome everyone to come next year
