The Estevan Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon on Wednesday with a guest speaker from SaskPower.

"Megan Patterson was here from SaskPower speaking about the energy efficiency programs that they have, the walkthrough programs," explained Jackie Wall, executive director of the Estevan Chamber of Commerce. "All the different ways that SaskPower customers can save on their bill or take a look at how they can maybe make some simple life changes or life choices that can reduce their power consumption and then extensive programs as far as adding solar to your home or your business and the net metering program. There was a lot of information on energy generation in the province and how you can save some money."

Patterson noted that there is a lot of information on the SaskPower Website as well as many programs and tips and suggests people check it out and to download the SaskPower App on their phones to help keep track of their bill and to be in the know when power outages happen, or they release new information.

The Estevan Chamber of Commerce has their next luncheon guest planned for April with no date set yet. The Luncheon will be with the PTRC [Petroleum Technology Research Centre].

"They are going to be here in April and will be talking about oil and gas," shared Wall. "We haven't quite nailed down a date for that or the exact topic but that is coming up, and we are expecting it to be very well attended because it will speak to the trends that are happening right now in the oil industry."
