A trucker returning to Canada in July of last year was sentenced to smuggling child porn at Estevan Provincial Courthouse yesterday. 

When returning to the country from a trip to Flordia, Sarbjit Singh Kahlon was found with a phone and memory stick containing child pornography. He was not in attendance in court but was represented by his lawyer. He had no prior criminal record.

Kahlon was given a $1,500 fine and forfeited of the phone and memory stick.

Also on the docket yesterday, were four people who all pleaded guilty to impaired driving. 

Russel Butler was given a $1,500 fine with a $450 victim impact surcharge and a one-year driving prohibition. 

Robyn Dwernychuk received a $1,500 fine along with a $450 victim impact surcharge. 

Calvin Veroba has to pay a $1,000 fine plus a $300 victim impact surcharge. He won't be allowed to drive for one year.

Justin Waldner will have to pay a $1,000 fine along with a $300 victim impact surcharge and was also given a one-year driving prohibition.
