Estevan Diversified Services staff and clients is looking forward to the upcoming Telethon.

"Estevan Diversified Services provides residential and vocational supports for adults with intellectual disabilities within our community," explains Carol Cundall, Executive Director. "We have approximately 65 individuals who are receiving services here. If not for Estevan Diversified Services, these individuals would have to travel a far distance to receive the kinds of supports they need. Everyone has the right to live in their home community and have a place to belong and that's what EDS does for these individuals."

They are one of fifteen member agencies for the Estevan United Way.

"The Estevan United Way is a major partner of ours. Without the support of the United Way, there's a lot of things that we wouldn't be able to do. This year we are looking at replacing a vehicle. We don't have the kind of funding that provides those supports and yet our clients need to be able to go get groceries, go to medical appointments, come to work. We provide those services with vehicles that are provided by the Estevan United Way."

She added that they are grateful for the support of the United way, especially the support that the Telethon bring.

"The Estevan United Way is so important to the lives of people with disabilities in this community. I can't thank them enough. Estevan itself welcomes our participants and the United Way provides for them in a way that we just couldn't do without them."

"On behalf of Estevan Diversified Services, and the clients here, the staff, and the board of directors, I really want to thank the Estevan United Way for all they do."

This year's United Way Telethon starts Friday at 8 am and wraps up on Saturday at 5 pm.
