With bright smiles and bursting energy in the crowd, the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation (SJHF) were tickled pink to host a third successful "Colour My Foundation" fundraising run at Woodlawn Regional Park.

Over 260 enthusiastic participants filed into the park on Saturday morning, most of which dressed in eye-popping costumes and decked out in all the colours of the rainbow well before the first group of runners took off from the start line.

The ever-popular 'colour toss' kicked off the festivities followed by the 5 Km walk/run through the park, where volunteers at colour station splashed a new coat of coloured starch on the participants every kilometre.

Following the run, prizes and a BBQ were handed out to cap off another memorable fundraiser for the local hospital foundation.

"We couldn't have been more thrilled with the turnout," expressed Becky Conly, SJHF Executive Director who spearheaded the run for a third straight year. "Everyone's dressed awesome in their costumes and really colourful."

"It's just a really wonderful day."

The numbers have been consistently around 250-300 participants each year, and with that certainty, the SJHF is excited to once again raise significant funds for another great cause.

"We're opening a new 'Women's Health and Cervical Cancer Screening Clinic' in the fall of 2017," adds Conly. "All the funds this year will be going to support that cause."

The clinic comes at a price tag of approximately $60,000.

Conly was also quick to thank all the support from the business community as well as the over 60 volunteers who once again made the day possible.

"From M&M Meats for providing the BBQ, Henders' Drugs, Pharmasave, as well as the Rapid Relief Team from Oxbow for providing over 40 volunteers," thanked Conly.

"And of course our title sponsor, Coldwell Banker Choice Real Estate in Estevan, for providing us with funds to cover our expenses."

Photos and videos from the 2017 'Colour My Foundation' run will be posted on DiscoverEstevan in the coming days.
