Work also completed on the water main replacement on Dieppe Crescent. The street was closed on July 4th.

Residents in Estevan are relieved to know that all work is now completed on King Street and Dieppe Crescent.

"it was a problem area that stretch on Dieppe, for many years with multiple water breaks," explained City Roads and Drainage Manager, Norm Mack, "and I'm sure with the recent improvements and work, that residents along that stretch of Dieppe will be more than happy with the new outcome of the project."

The work had originally scheduled for three weeks but took a little longer than anticipated.

"The concrete had to cure for a week or a little more and perhaps the excavating took a little longer than anticipated but the crews were bust every working on the project and scheduling went as fast as we could."

King Street was also finished construction work, for the last time this summer.

"King Street has been milled and filled and painted and that was our goal at the beginning of the year to make sure that from Souris to Pine would be complete and here it is, it's in August and we wanted to get it done before the school year began. So it's good to go and it's complete."

"If there's any work, it'll be small work throughout the whole stretch of King street. But we don't anticipate any more closures."

The next stage for King Street will be from Pine Avenue to Kensington Avenue, but nothing has been finalized yet.

"That's to be discussed during budget deliberations coming up in the fall. It's certainly something that roads and drainage and engineering will be looking at but time will tell with budget talks coming this fall and winter."
