The Salvation Army Food Bank continues to see a large need in the city, Ronza Reynard, "Well, we're keeping a steady pace, February is shaping up to be the kind of month January was, which was very busy. We were expecting that, I mean people who needed our services in January will need our services in February. And we try to plan for the year."

Items they are specifically looking for right now Reynard adds, "So we are still in need of a few things in our food back to keep going here, soda crackers to go along with all that soup we have. We need pancake mix and syrups, coffee, tea, hamburger helper, and 1 Litre juices. These are a few items that our shelves are quite low on at the moment. If we can get a few of those things in, that would help us out tremendously."

With January handing out over 5000 lbs of food Reynard comments what it is looking like for February, "It looks like we will come in about 8 to 10 fewer hampers than in January, so that number will come down a little bit into the 4000 lbs of food. We are looking at that as the level for at least the next couple of months."

The Salvation Army food bank is always looking for donations and so if you would like to help out and donate, you can drop items off at the Thrift Store during their hours. Or if you would like to give monetarily they will also accept that as well. With over 4 to 5 thousands pounds of food a month, they are always looking for support.
