Ronza Reynard with the Salvation Army, "So the Food Bank is as busy as ever, and we've been quite fortunate with a few food drives in the last few weeks. The schools have had a few food drives, some churches, the City had one at Affinity place for Halloween night. So right now our food bank is starting to fill up a little bit, so it's really nice going into the Christmas season. Cause its a busy season for as has the whole season so far."

The Estevan Food Bank is continuing to fill their shelves for many in the community of Estevan. And as the Christmas holiday is coming up, needs tend to stick out with extra costs through the winter season. The Salvation Army continues to be a resource in the community and Reynard adds, "For this time of year we are taking applications for Christmas hampers, so if people want to sign up, it's from now to December 7th to sign up for a Christmas hamper. So you can give us a call here at the store at 634-2074, you can sign yourself up, or if you have a neighbor or a friend you want to sign up, just call us and give us all of their information.  And it will get them on the list to get a Christmas hamper."

During the holidays you can see an increase in giving, but one thing to keep in mind is that people are in need all year. "So with the food bank being busy, as it has been this year were in need always of something. If people want to donate they can call down to our office and see what's on our list for things they can donate. We're seeing an increase every month, new families are coming in to access the food bank. So it's not just at Christmas, it is all year round that we have a need in our community. And the community has been very good at supporting us thus far." The Energy city continues to step up, and the Food Bank is encouraging us all to keep giving all year long.
