The generous spirit of Estevan just keeps on giving as the 'Gift of Toys event continues on down at Canadian Tire.

The pair of Estevan Fire Department command vehicles, along with some RCMP trucks, have been filled to the brim several times and made the trek back to the new fire hall to unload and add to the mountain of toys.

"The community support is phenomenal," shared Fire Chief Dale Feser, "We're having a great time out here, and a great time interacting with the public. The generousity is just through the roof."

One of the highlights was a $1400 donation from the workers at the Boundary Dam Power Station.

"I work with amazing employees and contractors, because I was walking around last week on my coffee breaks or even just getting from one work location to another, and I'd ask people for money. Before I even told them what I was collecting money for, they were pulling it out of their pockets to hand it to me," said Melanie Fish.

"When they found out it was for Estevan residents, for both food hampers and the Angel Tree, they were more than happy to give."

Another highlight was the contribution from Bienfait Weldon school. Over $1200 was raised by the grade 7/8 class, and they then made their way throughout the store, selecting toys to pile by the front door to be loaded up.

There is still time for donations, as the event runs until 9:00 at Canadian Tire.
