Members of the Estevan chapter of Habitat for Humanity are getting excited as the time draws near for their first ever build.

Doug Barnstable, Chair of Steering Committee for the group, explains that with the last few fundraisers that were held, they hope to have all their funds in place for the land purchase by the middle of June.

"Then we'll be doing the building permit and land purchase at that point," Barnstables explained. "We're shooting for the end of the month, but it depends a bit on how long it takes to get some of the legal transfers for land to take place. That's our target right now, the end of June."

He added that they are grateful for all the support from the public, including all the volunteers, those who participated in the fundraisers and the businesses who sponsor those fundraisers. There will be a few more fundraisers in June including a BBQ on June 3 at Murray GM and another on June 16 when the Estevan Co-op gas stations will donate a portion of gas sales to the group.
