If you're tired of all the clouds lately, you're in for some good news. The weather forecast is calling for some sunshine in the future.

"Not today," shared Mark Melsness with Environment Canada. "Maybe late afternoon but probably this evening at least. In the meantime, some clouds and a little bit of light snow, nothing really to speak of."

Last night the mercury dipped to a low of -20oC but a warm-up is in the cards.

"It looks like the next few days will be a slow warm up, back to normal or even above normal temperatures."

"The airflow in the upper atmosphere instead of coming out of the Arctic is coming more from the Pacific."

And if you're planning to spend some time outside this weekend, you won't have to bundle up as much.

"It looks like great weather for any outdoor activities. Looking at high temperatures of -8oC on Saturday and even up to -3oC on Sunday and should be a fair bit of sunshine around."

Normal highs for this time of year at around -6oC.

However, he added that with the warm-up comes the possibility of more fog.

"Hopefully not nearly as bad as what we've had but it's always a possibility once things start to warm up a bit."
