The Estevan Comprehensive School has continued to see an increase in students wanting to learn skills that will help them long after they graduate.

Josh LeBlanc, "Leadership 30 focuses on developing leadership skills, for the individual students as well as their co-working and team working skills. Basically showing them what it takes to be a leader, how to develop those skills, and what they need to be successful in leadership roles."

Josh shares the students eligible for this class, "Its a 30 Level credit so anyone in grade 11 or 12 will have the course open to them, it's an elective so it can be used as one of the ones they can take. We have a lot of electives at the ECS, such as shop, business classes, art, drama, and everything there so there is tons of stuff that kids can take. But we're really excited to be offering this class, so I really hope we see some enrollment because I think it will be a neat experience. It combines traditional classroom learning, project-based learning, inquiry learning that's all going to be involved in it. So its really going to be a great opportunity to develop skills in our young kids."

"It's going to look at all the areas that encompass leadership, it's going to study traditional areas of leadership and how it has evolved." LeBlanc shares how it will help out personally,  "And then it's going to actually develop those personal skills that you need to thrive in the leadership area. SO public speaking, group events, organizing, planning, timelining, project management, all of that kind of stuff will be looked at in this class."
