A few folks in an apartment building on the north side of town had a rude interruption to their supper Tuesday evening.

An errant SUV found it's way off the road, and plowed into the side of the building at around 5:30 PM. Fortunately, the apartment hit was vacant.

Christian Burt shared this SnapChat screenshot with DiscoverEstevan Tuesday evening, showing the errant SUV being pulled out of the building.

"Police issued the driver of the vehicle two traffic tickets in relation to the collision. The driver was charged for driving without due care and attention, as well as driving as a learner without a supervising passenger," said Constable David Sinclair with the Estevan Police Service.

"Police were also called to the report of an assault. Members investigated the matter and separated the parties for the night, the matter remains under investigation."

An officer happened to be a witness as a semi trailer unit struck a power pole on the north end of town. With the assistance of SaskPower, the truck was removed, and crews got to work to remove the pole. The driver was given a $500 ticket for being off the truck route.

Power was out in spots in the area, including the traffic lights in the intersection of King and 13th Avenue. The public was asked to avoid the area for the time being.

Police and SaskPower were also at the intersection of King and 13th Avenue for awhile, thanks to a semi striking a power pole in the early morning.
