The United Way Telethon broke with tradition this year when they presented the Estevan Legion with a donation of $2,000. In years, past, it has been the Legion who kicks off the Telethon by making a donation to the United Way however, after recent financial troubles, the United Way stepped up in support of the Legion. 

"We were really really surprised," shared Lyle Dukart, President of the Estevan Legion. "The community support, the United Way, is just unbelievable." 

The Estevan Legion also proves use of their hall and facility to the Untied Way for the Telethon at no cost. 

"Come Wednesday night, I gave them the key and then I walked out."

"This community is just unbelievable. I know that the United Way does a lot of good work here." 

He added that he is enjoyed the entertainment at the Telethon. The event runs until 5 pm tomorrow evening.
