Residents of the Energy City will be able to get back to making a splash, as Monday saw the reopening of the RM of Estevan Aquatic Center after it's annual maintenance.

In addition to the routine clean up and work needed to keep it spic and span, and safe, the pool saw some upgrades to the equipment.

"We've added a few exciting items. We have a new pool toy, a new diving board, and we ended up re-tiling the family change room," shared Erin Wilson, the City of Estevan's Recreation Programmer.

"On October 2nd, our first day of reopening, we are having a free swim from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. We invite everybody to come down and enjoy the pool, see all the changes, try out the new pool toys and certainly diving board."

She also thanked the public for their patience, as the process took longer than they would have liked. However, Wilson added that once people take in the work that was done, they will appreciate the extra wait.
