A local Pharmacist has been recognized for his work with students. Matthew Walliser was awarded Mentor of the Year from the University of Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy.

"We're really excited for one of our pharmacists, Matthew Walliser," shared Greg Hoffart, Executive Director at the St Joseph's Hospital.

"Throughout the year, the college sends numerous pharmacy students out right across the province to spend some time at various hospitals and be mentored by pharmacists. And this year, Matthew Walliser was selected as the top mentor."

"Our hospital and our frontline staff, we host an enormous amount of students throughout the year, in various stages of their training. From pharmacists to dieticians, physicians you name it, we host them here. Our staff does an amazing job providing practical experience for all these students and it's nice to have our staff recognized in such a way."

The medical staff also recently welcomed three new physicians to the hospital as well.
