Pastor Charlie Bowen from Macoun helped to organize a fundraiser for the Macoun Fire Services, and this is what he had to say of the event. “At the Macoun school we had approximately 120 people there. For our BBQ supper and fundraiser for the Macoun Services. And then we had lots of silent auction items from many businesses in Estevan as well as some local donations from Macoun. And between the supper and the silent auction we profited $3500.00 for the Macoun Fire Services equipment.”

In regards to numbers Bowen added, “We’re very encourage it will definitely help a lot to upgrade some of the equipment we need for the fire services, and keeping our aging trucks running the way they should be.”

And as for the repairs they need to make, “There are some welding repairs that need to happen on the back of the trucks so they can carry some additional equipment. We need to purchase some new fire nozzles, and probably a couple other fire hoses for sure with these kind of funds.”

The Daae family offered their musical talent for the entertainment throughout the night. “They brought some excellent music,” Pastor Bowen had to say of the Daae family. “I heard a lot of good comments.”
