An emergency response training program in Midale this weekend expects over 120 volunteer firefighters from 28 surrounding communities to attend.

"Saskatchewan volunteer firefighters play a vital role in the event of emergencies, and with the assistance of SaskEnergy and some other organizations, Midale Fire and Rescue is excited to put on this training course which will better equip the designated first responders in the area," said Midale/Cymri Fire Chief Laverne Hockey.

Training takes place on Saturday, November 16th at the Midale Civic Centre. Registration is at 9:00 a.m. with the program itself beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending around 3:30 p.m.

The event will include STARS air ambulance landing zone training, a presentation from the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, a stress management presentation from the Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, and SaskEnergy/TransGas natural gas safety awareness training.
