It was a busy day at Estevan's Dairy Queen where they raised money for the Jim Patterson's Children's Hospital.

"We raised $8,900 yesterday at Miracle Treat Day," explained co-owner Louise Vandenhurk. "Lorett, myself and the staff want to thank Estevan and community once again for supporting this great cause. They are always there to support the cause and it's so greatly appreciated."

The totals were just about identical to last year's totals. This year, the Estevan Dairy Queen made 1,934 blizzards.

"The staff did an amazing job, they were exhausted."

She added that she was grateful for all the support form the community.

"That is one thing you gotta say about Estevan, they are so supportive of all these things. It's wonderful."

Payton Sernick, ambassador of the Jim Patterson Children's Hospital, was on-hand to led her help to the cause.

"I'm working at the drive through to raise money for the new Jim PAtterson Children's Hopsital. I did it last year also."

She added that it was important to her to see a hospital built that is just for kids and new mothers.

"Because people in regular hospitals, there's always people that come in sick and they get the, they get the kids more sick."

Peyton also raises money through selling suckers with her "Cancer Sucks" project. She also speaks at different schools around the area.
