While it was nothing significant, and most of it is melting away already, Monday morning's snowfall is a timely reminder to all of us that the season is approaching and a return to winter driving conditions is imminent.

"This is the first snowfall we've had in the southeast corner here this year, and because of the snow and the temperatures being around zero, people should leave extra time when trying to stop, and just pay a little bit more attention. The roads could be slick," advised the Estevan Police Service's Craig Bird.

"Hopefully the weather warms up and melt the snow off fairly quickly, but care should be taken. As we're just at the beginning of winter, it's only going to get worse from here, unfortunately. People need to be aware of that, and take care when driving."
