After already being busy with repairs to their hall, and making upgrades to their water treatment plant, the Village of North Portal is not ready to call it quits on their improvements.

"We still have funding left over from the CWWF program," shared Village Administrator, Lindsay Davis, "so we are looking at some other upgrade options."

"One option for consideration is the installation of a generator, a back up power source so when we have power outages, we can still supply water to our rate payers."

Davis added that no decision has been made as of yet whether or not that will be the option council will go with.

"Right now we're just waiting to hear a cost from our engineers and some feedback from them so hoping by the end of February we'll have a plan in place."

Davis also added the Canadian Border Services Agency is planning an expansion to their port at the border in North Portal so she anticipates that will be a big project.

North Portal Council will meet again on February 28th.
