There are a few notable matters on the docket in Estevan Provincial courthouse this morning.

Victor and Michlle Omoruyi will both have their matters heard. Michelle Omoruyi is charged with one count of human smuggling and one count of conspiracy to commit human smuggling. She will be joined by her husband Victor Omoruyi who recently completed a 6 month sentence for human smuggling after pleading guilty to harbouring and transporting an alien in Fargo, North Dakota and is charged with one count of human smuggling and one count of aiding or abetting.

Neil Goertzen, of Regina will also be on the docket. He is charged with with one count of possession of a firearm without a licence and one count of careless storage of a firearm and one count of possession and one count of trafficking. He arrested after a traffic stop near Frobisher on October 6th along with Marian Ellson who is also in appearance today.

Shane Stainer from Binscarth, Manitoba is scheduled to be sentenced after pleading guilty to unlawfully transporting a prohibited firearm in a careless manner as well as impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He and an Estevan man were arrested on December 2nd when police noticed a vehicle traveling at night with no lights on and weaving around on the road.
