UPDATE:RCMP Confirm Accident Was Fatal.

Broadview RCMP have confirmed that the collision on Highway 9, 40 kilometers south of Whitewood, Saskatchewan this morning resulted in the death of a 43 year old male from Kipling, Saskatchewan.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the male was the driver and lone occupant of a north-bound pick-up truck that collided with a south-bound semi tractor-trailer unit.

The driver of the semi sustained undetermined injuries and was transported by EMS to hospital.

An RCMP Collision Analyst has attended the scene. The Office of the Chief Coroner is assisting, and the investigation is ongoing.

The highway is expected to re-open to traffic shortly.   

 

 

 

Broadview RCMP are currently on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 9 near the intersection of Highways 9 and 48.

Highway 9 is closed in both directions between Highway 48 and the 711 Grid.

Investigators will be on the scene for the next several hours and drivers in the area can expect delays and are asked to avoid the area.

Drivers are reminded to slow to 60 km/hour when passing emergency workers.
