Wednesday was Pink Shirt Day, a day where everyone is encouraged to wear pink in order to raise awareness of bullying.

The City of Estevan hosted a walk at the Affinity Place Walking track in celebration of the occasion, and Erin Wilson said that it was a success.

"All day we saw those pink shirts walking around the track. If they couldn't make it to the main event, they were still able to join us at different times. It was great seeing all the people come out and support a great cause."

She also expressed what makes the day so special.

"We want to make sure that people are aware of this problem. For us it's not just about the schools, it's also about bullying in the workplace, and we want to make sure to represent the city in a positive way, and say that it's not acceptable."

"We are always grateful for the support that the community gives us. They have been nothing but positive when it comes to Pink Shirt Day," she shared.

Wilson added that excitement is already building toward celebrating the occasion next year.
