The Estevan Police Service had a fairly busy Friday evening with many vehicle stops to check for impaired drivers. Police received a call of a intoxicated male walking in the middle of the street around the 800 block on 4th Street. "The man was located at the corner of 9th Avenue and 4th Street, he was intoxicated and he was checked out and had no outstanding warrants or any serious medical issues," explained Sgt. Tyler McMillen.

"He was intoxicated. He was taken to his home and released to a sober person that lived at the residence as well." The police thanked the caller for potentially saving the man's life as it was dark and foggy with little visibility.

There was also a call of a man running out by the card-locks along the bypass an the east end of the city, police located the man who was a semi driver whom was out getting some air and exercise. Police advised the man to be careful with the fog.

"Police were called to a gas drive off from the Royal Heights Esso on the West side of the city. No plate was obtained, it was a dark colored Kia, possibly a Sorento but a SUV dark colored Kia vehicle. It was two male. The driver never got out of the vehicle, the passenger got out and pumped the gas." Police did manage to get a video and some still pictures and will be posting them if the men don't come forward and pay what they are owing for the gas. The matter is still under investigation.

There was also a report of a stolen licence plate on the north side of the city and the plate has been red flagged in the Canada wide police system, more details to come as they become available.
