This year the Energy City hosted what may have been one of the best fairs yet.

The Estevan Police Service was in attendance to maintain order, and found that everyone, for the most part, behaved well.

"We did have a number of officers brought in to make sure everyone was safe and so forth, as well as to interact with the community," stated Police Chief Paul Ladouceur.

"All in all, we didn't have a lot of issues. There were no real problems, and that's the way we like to see it."

However, he expounded on one item that they did encounter.

"Any time there is a major event, it can cause parking problems. The biggest ones we tend to deal with, especially around Affinity Place, is people parking in those fire lanes. That's something you really have to be mindful of. While there can often be a bit of discretion in regards to overflow, it's very difficult for that to be used when people are blocking those areas. We all know what can happen if the fire department can't get access to a location, especially a public building."

"It's one thing to park in a no parking zone, but its' very serious to be parking in a fire lane. We want people to be mindful of that and respectful of those spots," Ladouceur said. He added, however, that it doesn't mean that you won't get a ticket for placing your vehicle in a no parking zone.
