The Estevan Police Service not only had an entertaining night, but an early morning collision kept them going.

Sgt. Craig Bird, "We ran into a couple of things, we ended up checking a vehicle that was stopped in the middle of the road. Went to check what was going on and found out the vehicle ran out of gas. We stayed with the vehicle and made sure no one ran into it while it was stopped on the roadway. The driver went to get some more fuel and then was able to drive off without causing too many more problems."

"A little later we were just doing conditions checks on individuals throughout the night, and found everyone was in compliance of those so that was good."

"And then we were just out on the highway, on the east end of the city, and we're dealing with a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident." Sgt. Bird goes on to say, "Fortunately, there was only minor damage to the vehicles and nobody was injured, so just in the process of filling out the paperwork that goes with that."

Yesterday during the day shift police were also very busy.

Estevan Police Service received a report of another CRA scam, this time in the form of an email. The recipient is to respond to the email immediately or else other authorities would get involved. We would like to remind the public to be cautious when responding to such emails and to confirm it’s validity prior to doing so.

Estevan Police Service was notified of another email scam that had been sent to an Estevan Resident. The recipient was to send money as well. The matter is under investigation.

Members were dispatched to the Northeast part of the city for a report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was located parked in a parking lot. Members waited for the driver to return to the vehicle and noted a male was walking towards the vehicle with a shopping cart full of items. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the male had stolen the items from the store. A 40-year-old male from Carlyle was arrested and charged with Theft under $5000. He was released and set to attend court in April.
