According to Jonathan Tremblay, with SaskPower, the outage affected the southwest part of Estevan. Around 100 customers had their power restored almost immediately while 16 customers waited around two hours for their power to come back on.

Although it is not confirmed, it is likely the fire was caused due to damage sustained during Thursday's storm. He suspects a short created sparks which ignited the fire.

The Estevan Fire Department responded to the call and managed to get the flames under control quickly.
