The day of another local music program was made on Thursday, as Golden West Broadcasting continued to show their support of such organizations in the southeast.

This time the beneficiary was the Estevan and District Music Festival, which is held every March to showcase the talents of young children and youth, as well as adults.

"We are extremely grateful to receive the Golden West Broadcasting Canadian Content Development funding. With this money, we are able to keep the entry fee of our festival minimal," stated Pam Dechief, the President of the EDMF.

"The entry fee has not gone up in five years, mainly due to receiving this funding. We are thankful that we can keep those low to help more students enter the festival."

The occasion includes performances of piano, vocals, speech and band.

"Our youngest competitors are four to five years old, and the majority are school aged children up to high school," Dechief said, adding that they also have some adult and senior performers.
