The town of Redvers is currently running a sizable fleet of men and engines.

At present-day they have approximately 20 sets of hands on deck.

Something that the department has struggled with in years gone by is being able to manage flipped cars at the scene of accidents.

The fire chief in Redvers, Brad Hutton was happy to announce a new piece of equipment that is designed to lift large vehicles back on to an upright position after a crash.

"The new equipment we picked up is all heavy rescue equipment. If we have semi rollovers or tractors, and heavy equipment. We don't have crane trucks or pickers within 40 minutes of Redvers. We took the route of getting heavy rescue so that we're capable of lifting or shifting semis, cement trucks, you name it without having to wait for a tow truck or a crane truck."

Looking ahead to the new year, Hutton said that the station is not planning on getting any more new equipment and will be focusing predominantly on training for all of the staff.
