As part of a four month investigation, nine foreign nationals were intercepted while crossing the Canada/United States border on Friday, Apr. 14.
 
The nine individuals were in the area between North Portal and Northgate portal at the Saskatchewan/US border.
 
Saskatchewan RCMP would not give the details of where the nine individuals were from, including nationality, gender and age.
 
A 43-year-old female resident of Regina was arrested in relation to this incident.
 
Police say she was arrested at the scene on Apr.14.
 
The ongoing investigation started in December, but police were tipped off in February and started to intensify patrols at the Canada/US border.
 
On Saturday, April 15, RCMP conducted a search warrant on a house in Regina, and as a result, the 43-year-old Michelle Omoruyi has been charged with one count of human smuggling and one count of conspiracy to commit human smuggling.
 
Omoruyi will make her first court appearance in Estevan on May 15 at 9:30 a.m.
