While the RMs of Estevan and Cymri have both opted to affect road bans in their area, the RM of Benson will be waiting until next week.

"We won't be putting them on," explained Reeve David Hoffart, "due to the fact that I looked at the weather forecast and they're expecting it to get quite cold this weekend."

He added that with Friday being a holiday, they felt it best to wait until next week.

"They probably won't be going on until next Tuesday. That being said, we rebuilt several miles of roads last year and they were getting soft so we have put (road bans) on those seven miles."

Road bans do affect business in the area so RMs have to be conscious of that.

"Our main trucks on the road are the oil trucks that are running day and night virtually. Don't get me wrong, oil is a tremendous asset to our RM and we try to work with them as much as we can and they are very cooperative and we are hopefully working cooperatively back to them."

He added that they are planning on working on more roads this year.

"We're going out for tender right now for 14 miles for this year, 2018 plus there were two miles that we didn't get done last year so if everything goes as we plan, we will be doing 16 miles this year."
