Leading up to their 30th Anniversary, SARCAN is helping out our community with an appreciation day.

Connie Hagel the assistant manager at SARCAN had this to say, "We are celebrating 30 years of 'Crushing It' this year, this July we are doing our customer appreciation day on the 30th of July. We are excited about that."

When asked about this years goal and appreciation day, "Were going to do cupcakes, coffee, and drinks. And just get everyone aware that its a good thing were doing this. We have a goal that we want to do, count a million containers in July. So if you bring in your containers, that will get us closer to our goal of a million containers counted in the month of July."

"Last year we just about did a million containers in July and August, so were going to try to beat that."

Connie's thoughts on how important recycling is, "Recycling is very important to the community, it puts back and all this stuff that is recycled doesn't end up in the landfill. And more so now that were doing the milk jugs and milk cartons. Its less stuff in the landfill, and your paying out your money for the deposit, so you my as well get your money back."

In place of recycling glass around town, SARCAN has a solution to some of it. "We accept house-hold glass, clear glass, but were not doing any of the plastic bags or anything like that. So if you have household glass, by all means bring it in here."

"We've got a hard-working group of staff members. All that we ask is we are appreciating you, just say thank you to the person who is counting for you cause they work really hard in a day."
