Savour the Southeast will be back for its third year in Estevan on May 5th, 2018. Josh Leblanc, one of the organizers of the event, has announced requests for funding from the event.

"They can visit our website, we have all the applications on there, you fill it out online. There's a big black button you have to press and it will take you to the application form to fill it out. Or you can visit us on Facebook which also has all the updates about the event going on as well."

"The other thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't necessarily need to be in Estevan. Savour the Southeast is just that, so if there's groups in the southeast that are interested, keep that in mind and fill out the application."

He adds that smaller organizations can team up if they feel that they might not have the number volunteers needed.

"This year we're encouraging groups to collaborate and get together. So if we have swimming groups or skating groups or hockey groups or things like that, that think they might need the funds or could use the access to the funds, we highly encourage that. If there'a group that maybe has a large capital project that they see on the horizon that they need funds for, we encourage those types of groups. And we also encourage service groups."

"Savour the Southeast has provided over $100,000 in community funding in the past two years and we hope to continue to do that."

Last year's recipients were the Estevan Kinsmen and Kinettes and they used the funds to help pay for their permanent outdoor rink.

"We are working really, really hard already to get things going. We're in the midst of booking some really good bands, we're starting to talk with vendors. It takes about a year in advance to plan these things. We're lucky to live in the community we are who support it and we hope to see the community come out and support it again."
