Stoughton businesses were on display at last night's Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

"This year we had 11 nominations which was fantastic," explained Danielle Hoffman, Treasurer for the Stoughton Chamber, "11 different businesses in a town of  700, that's pretty good."

"These are nominated by people in the community so it shows that we support local and we are appreciative of what we have local so it was really great."

She added that any one of the businesses nominated were worthy of an award.

"All of them are very deserving and I know that it was a very tough decision for the judges."

"We had the MLA, Dan D'Autremont, representing SaskTel who is a sponsor and we had Verna O'Neill coming from Sunrise Communities Future, they were also a sponsor of the evening. The Town of Stoughton was also a sponsor so we had a council member there representing them."

The awards event was held at the Happy Nun Cafe in Forget.

"They are Chamber members for the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce and it was a great venue. Gayla and Leon did a fantastic job, the food was amazing so kudos to them."

The last awards were handed out in 2015.
