Even though it's still months away, preparations have begun for Telemiracle 42, which will be held on March 3rd and 4th, 2018.

Right now the committee, headed by their new chair, Susan Colbow, is looking for performers to ply their act on the stage.

"We usually have about 60 people on the show that are Saskatchewan talent, but we have around 180 that go to auditions and apply," she said.

The auditions will be held in Regina on November 4th, and Saskatoon on November 5th.

"You can be singers, dancers, or musicians. We've had magicians on there, you can be a juggler, anything you want to do. Any hidden talent you have, just come out and audition."

"If anybody is interested, they can call Debra at the office. Her number is 306-244-6400, extension 2," Colbow added.

"When they're looking at those auditioning, talent is not the only thing they observe. They want acts from the northern part of the province, all the way down to Estevan. They also like to see people that will fundraise to bring more money to Telemiracle."

Once the performers have been picked, the committee ramps up their awareness campaign, visiting schools and the like to bring more attention to the cause.

"It's surprising, in this day and age, how many people aren't quite aware of Telemiracle. So we like to get out there in the public and let them know what it's for. Some will say, 'Oh, my grandpa or my friend was helped by Telemiracle!,' then the next person says, 'I don't know what that is,' or, 'I've never watched it before'," Colbow shared.

"It is Saskatchewan's charity, so the money that is raised in Saskatchewan stays here in Saskatchewan."

She expressed that she is excited to be chairing the event committee this year.

"It is a very worthwhile cause. I know the economy is not there, but every dollar counts. If they can give a dollar or two dollars, it's all we ask for."
