The Estevan police service is warning residents and business owners of a recent telephone scam.

A downtown business received a fraudulent telephone call from an individual claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency. Thankfully, no information was provided to the caller and the matter remains under investigation.

The EPS reminds everyone not to divulge personal information over the phone and if they become suspicious, to hang up and call the business back to ensure it's not a scam. A well, residents are encouraged to your local police if you believe you received a fraudulent call.
