Following today's rain and expected snowfall, the skies should clear, but the temperatures drop.

"There's another system coming through on Friday," shared Terri Lang with Environment Canada.

Cold arctic air will be pushing into the area with overnight lows in the mid- minus teens. Coupled with the freezing rain and snow received today, it could make for some tricky driving conditions.

"I always emphasize that people be prepared for winter driving conditions. When we get above freezing temperatures, people are not giving themselves enough time and then if things change quickly. And with the freezing rain, and snow, checking the weather forecast, having the winter tires on, emergency kit."

Friday's overnight low is expected to be -22oC with a high of -10oC for Saturday.

Average highs for this time of year are around -1°C with average lows around -9.°C.
