The City of Estevan will be holding a Council meeting on Monday.

"We will be discussing the 2016 Audited Financial Statement," shared Mayor Roy Ludwig.

There are multiple events taking place in Estevan during the fall that the Council is enthusiastic about.

"We have the 2017 Ebex Awards coming up on October 20th and we are quite excited with the Chamber on that. They will have several awards such as the Service Award, Community Involvement Award, Environmental Leader Award, Growth and Expansion, New Business Venture, Young Entrepreneur Award, Business Leader of the Year Award and usually we have someone that is going into the business hall of fame. It is a great idea and it is an opportunity for us to recognize the great business people we have in our community," he explained.

"We have got the Rodeo coming up on September 1st and 2nd, so they are looking for sponsorship."

The Council also has a few announcements they would like to share with the City.

"Under proclamations, we have national drowning prevention week. This is an opportune time with everybody out in the water and enjoying themselves, whether that be camping or just going for a swim. It's very important that people be aware of the dangers out in the water."

"We will be changing the street name from Woodlawn Avenue and we will be renaming it Collins Road. Mr.Collins was an active individual within our community. He served as Mayor, as councilman and he was the Principal at Sacred Heart School. He was a leader within the community and this is an opportunity to recognize Mr.Collins for all of the good deeds he has done and help move our community forward," Mayor Ludwig stated.
