Traffic enforcement was the primary activity for the Estevan Police Service Thursday evening and over the nightshift.

"Although there wasn't much in the way of traffic, there were a couple speeding tickets and one cellphone ticket handed out," related Sergeant Tyler McMillen.

"There were also three charges under the new Cannabis Control Act here in Saskatchewan, for youth possessing marijuana. Three of them were issued last night during traffic stops. Those tickets are $360 each."

He added that scams were a commonly reported item, and advised residents to check with another source if something seems fishy.

During the dayshift on Thursday, officers were called to a residence on the north end of the city to the report of an individual refusing to leave. They arrived and arrested a 46 year old Estevan female for being unlawfully in a dwelling, breach of court ordered conditions and possession of a controlled substance. She was held in custody and taken to Provincial Court, and then held for another appearance next week.

Members also dealt with several hit and run reports that took place at different points across town.
