Towns and RMs across southeast Saskatchewan are looking back 2017 and the successes and losses involved.

For the Village of Torquay, they'd rather look ahead to the new year and what's in store. However, some of what they will be considering in 2018 is affected partially by what has happened over last couple months..

"With the snowfall we've seen in the last few weeks, there could be quite a bit of runoff in the spring," shared Mayor Mike Strachan.

"We're hoping that the residents will help us out with getting the water flowing and stuff like that when that time does happen."

That said, other items for improvement are on the agenda as well.

"We're actually planning on doing some rip rap upgrades to our lagoon. This year, we're hoping to get some federal money to fund that as well so that it's not too big of a burden on our small community."
