The southeast is seeing a different kind of storm system on Thursday morning than it has this winter. And this latest may be causing the most havoc on the highways to date.

Wind gusts up to 70 km/h began late Wednesday night and have carried on into Thursday. That along with snowfall has caused blowing snow across all highways and zero visibility for motorists. To make matters even more difficult, the wind chill is making it feel like (-45) on Thursday morning.

Environment Canada has both an EXTREME COLD WARNING and a BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY in effect.

These conditions are expected to last until late Thursday and overnight into Friday.
