Highway 39 heading west has now been reopened following an incident around mid-morning on Tuesday, with a semi tractor unit striking the train bridge.

The semi was hauling a backhoe, which fell off after the impact, blocking traffic for several hours.

"Everything has been cleaned up, and the road is back open for regular travel," shared Police Chief Paul Ladouceur.

"We appreciate everyone's cooperation in avoiding the area while we were dealing with the accident at hand."

Ladouceur noted that it was a height miscalculation, and that an invesigation will take place and any appropriate charges will be laid.
