The RCMP had a large presence in Stoughton on Wednesday morning, as the Saskatchewan Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit carried out search warrants as part of a larger investigation.

The first was at a residence on the 300 block of Forget Street in the town, and the second was executed at a rural residence in the RM of Tecumseh, northeast of Stoughton.

According to the RCMP, three adult males were taken into custody.

Although it was earlier reported by area residents that a stand-off took place, with shots fired, this was denied by the police.

The investigation is ongoing.

The CFSEU was assisted by the RCMP "F" and "D" (Manitoba) Emergency Response Teams, RCMP Federal and Serious Crime, Saskatchewan Police Dog Services, Weyburn and Estevan Police Services, and members from multiple "F" division Division RCMP Detachments.
