Estevan Provincial Court will hear a human smuggling case on May 15, 2017. Regina resident, Michelle Omoruyi, is facing charges after she was arrested on Friday, April 14. It is alleged that the 43 year old woman was driving a vehicle with alylum seekers from West Africa across the border between North Portal and Northgate in Saskatchewan. The case has also resulted in more arrests on both sides of the border.

The charges stem from a 4 month long investigation.
