An afternoon filled with laughter, dancing, and raising money for a great cause. Westview school set out to raise money for United Way.

Cheri Haberstock the Principal of Westview school, "We just completed our dance-a-thon today, it was a wonderful, wonderful day. We raised lots of money for United Way. And the kids had a great time as well, we were so excited to have the Estevan Bruins players join us today and they had fun too and they were dancing with the kids. It was such a great feeling that was in the air because we knew that we were dancing and having fun. Getting physical activity, but doing it for a very good cause."

As for how much they raised, "We raised over $2900.00, almost $3000.00." Mrs. Haberstock added how the kids raised the money, "They just took pledges, and they promised to be dancing and moving for the entire afternoon. Our older students danced longer than our younger students. They just had that commitment to raise money, and our parents in our community really support this because they know how important the United Way is. And we just want to do good work in our community through our United Way."

They had a room set-up close the gymnasium full of places to sit and board games and Haberstock explains, "We know that some of our students aren't as excited about loud music and sometimes they get tired in the loud music. And they need a break, so it was a great opportunity for them to go play games instead and socialize. And a great place for them to calm down and then go back and dance later."

Great job Westview for supporting our United Way.
